Winter Citrus Salad
A crisp and refreshing winter salad featuring bright citrus, bitter greens, and a lightly spiced Aleppo dressing.
Ingredients
1 head Castelfranco lettuce
3 leaves radicchio, thinly sliced
1/2 fennel, thinly sliced on a mandoline
1 orange
1 grapefruit
Small handful of mint leaves
Juice from orange
Juice from grapefruit
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
3 tablespoons olive oil
Pinch of Aleppo pepper
Maldon salt, to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Vegetables
Place the Castelfranco lettuce in a serving bowl. Add the sliced radicchio and fennel.Segment the Citrus
Cut both ends off the orange and grapefruit. Stand upright on a flat end and slice away the peel and pith. Cut between the membranes to release segments, and add them to the bowl. Reserve the membranes for juice.Make the Dressing
Squeeze the juice from the leftover citrus membranes into a small bowl. Add the white wine vinegar, olive oil, Aleppo pepper, and Maldon salt. Whisk with a fork to combine.Dress the Salad
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat everything evenly.Garnish and Serve
Top with fresh mint leaves and a final pinch of Aleppo pepper. Enjoy immediately!
