Green Beans with Chili Oil
Crispy-tender green beans tossed in fiery chili oil and finished with fresh lime and basil.
Ingredients
1 lb green beans, ends removed
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons S&B chili oil with crunchy garlic
½ lime, juiced
A handful of basil leaves or basil flowers
½ lime, cut into wedges (for serving)
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Sear the Beans
Heat a pan over medium-high and add the sesame oil. Once hot, add the green beans in a single layer. Let them sit undisturbed for 3–5 minutes, until they begin to blister and sear.Steam
Season with salt and pepper, then stir to cook evenly. Add 1 tablespoon of water, reduce heat to medium-low, and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Steam for 2–3 minutes, until just tender.Finish and Serve
Remove the lid, add chili oil and lime juice, and toss to coat. Transfer to a serving dish, top with basil, and serve with lime wedges.
